The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Plexal have revealed the four latest startups joining its cybersecurity accelerator programme.
Companies on the 12-week programme, known as NCSC for Startups, will receive technical expertise to progress their technologies and business.
NCSC, which is part of the British intelligence agency GCHQ, is running the startup initiative with Plexal, an innovation hub based in Olympic Park in East London.
The four new startups follow the 60 alumni businesses to complete the cyber accelerator, which have collectively gone on to raise £430m. NCSC is the successor to the NCSC’s Cyber Accelerator.
“As threats evolve and our critical national infrastructure faces new challenges, it is important that we look for new opportunities to harness emerging technologies to strengthen the UK’s digital economy and drive greater cyber resilience,” said Saj Huq, CCO and head of innovation at Plexal.
Huq added: “This requires cross-sector innovation and collaboration between government, startups and industry, and we’re delighted to welcome our latest intake of talented leaders to our first NCSC For Startups Programme of 2023.”

Lexverify uses artificial intelligence to monitor communications for potential legal and compliance issues.
RoboShadow
Headquartered: London
Founded: 2017
RoboShadow develops cybersecurity software that provides network monitoring, device management and SaaS compliance.
Rowden Technologies
Headquartered: Bristol
Founded: 2017
The firm has a range of cybersecurity tools and “is working on the digital fingerprinting of devices to help secure networks”. Its users include government customers.
ZORB Security
Headquartered: Cambridge
Founded: 2017
It provides cybersecurity software designed for remote employees and a physical device that acts as a defence for a home’s internet network.
