IoT specialist Nexer Insight appoints general manager to grow UK business

Elite Microsoft Azure Internet of Things and Advanced Analytics partner, Nexer Insight, is continuing its global expansion with the appointment of a new UK general manager.

Mark Crowne, a professional engineer with thirty-five years’ experience in digital transformation and embedded systems development, is ideally placed to help Nexer Insight realise its ambitious UK growth plans.

Over the next two years, Mark will work towards establishing a full local subsidiary with more than 25 employees, enabling Nexer Insight to help UK manufacturing, industrial, and public sector clients to build back better and address the challenges of Covid-19, Brexit, and the climate crisis.

Prior to joining Nexer Insight, Mark was director of Deloitte’s UK go-to-market relationship with Microsoft, responsible for managing and growing Microsoft’s virtual practice across the firm, and supporting Deloitte clients in meeting business needs with hybrid cloud, workplace, analytics, IoT, and AI solutions.

Part of the Nexer Group, formerly Sigma IT, Nexer Insight is headquartered in Sweden and specialises in solving business problems through the rapid and pragmatic application of Azure IoT, Data, AI, AR/VR, and Digital Twins technologies.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark said: “It is great to be able to bring to the UK Nexer’s credentials for quickly creating practical solutions to demanding industry problems with Microsoft IoT, Data and AI technology.

“Microsoft has established a commanding industry position in IoT and AI, with a device-to-cloud story that is unmatched by any other cloud vendor. Here in the UK, with the multiple challenges posed by Brexit, Covid-19, and the climate emergency, there is a market need for proven partners to support clients alongside Microsoft with their transformation journey.”

President and CEO of Nexer Insight David österlindh added: “It is the right time for Nexer Insight to enter the UK market. The IoT marketplace is a tough one for existing Microsoft partners – clients have ambitious plans for transformation but realising them poses technology and people change challenges far greater than previous screen-centred cloud applications. We’ve proven at Nexer that we can deliver for clients, and now we are doing it in the UK.”
