Cambridge-based Speechmatics automatic speech-to-text service launches on Microsoft Azure Marketplace

Speechmatics is a Cambridge-based company that develops any-context speech recognition technology. The company has recently announced its launch on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

With this launch, users can utilise Speechmatics’ Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) engine directly through Microsoft Azure.

Detect and transcribe voice in any context

Speechmatics enable companies to build applications that detect and transcribe voice in any context and in real-time. Its neural networks consider acoustics, languages, dialects, multiple speakers, punctuation, capitalisation, context, and implicit meanings.

The organisations and enterprises in the UK, USA, and EU can make better data-driven decisions and improve efficiency by understanding voice data insights – such as metadata and sentiment.

The company’s speech recognition technology is used by enterprises in scenarios such as media & entertainment, contact centers, CRM, financial services, security, and software.

As per the company’s claims, it processes millions of hours of transcription worldwide every month in 30+ languages.

Streamline business operations

Automating mundane tasks, such as transcription, is vital to streamline business operations and manage business growth.

Speech recognition technology is the foundation for transforming high volumes of structured and unstructured voice data automatically and efficiently into text.

ASR provides businesses with searchable, actionable data that was previously inaccessible or too time-consuming to obtain from audio files.

Based out of Cambridge, Speechmatics has offices in the UK, Denver, USA, Chennai, India, and Brno, Czech Republic.

James Chadwick at Microsoft said: We’re thrilled to be working with Speechmatics and that their any-context speech recognition engine is now available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Our customers now have easy access to Speechmatics’ use-case and market agnostic, highly accurate speech-to-text in over 30 languages.”

David Keene, Chief Marketing Officer at Speechmatics said: “The ability to integrate our engine via Microsoft Azure opens up a simple way for businesses to gain access to speech recognition technology. The Microsoft Azure platform provides its customers with reliable solutions, and we are thrilled to now be available on the Marketplace. Speechmatics is the most accurate, any-context speech recognition engine on the market, whilst also offering a broad range of languages and global language models which sets us apart from the competition.”
