Wise upgrades London office space as expansion continues

London fintech Wise has opened a new office in London as the fintech marks the next chapter in its global expansion.

After more than eight years at the Tea Building on Shoreditch High Street, the money transfer business is moving into new global headquarters at Worship Square – a new nine-story building on Clifton Street in Shoreditch that offers flexible office spaces and in-house wellbeing amenities.

Wise will occupy five of the eight floors at Worship Square for its over 1,000 local employees, with its office footprint increasing by 40%.

Isabel Naidoo, Chief People Officer at Wise, said: “As we continue to scale, we’re focused on providing Wisers globally with the best environment to enable them to connect and collaborate on solving real problems for our customers, and build solutions that make moving and managing money effortless.

“With over 125 nationalities represented in our team – many of whom know firsthand the challenges of moving money across borders – these spaces help us come together to build the future of money without borders, helping around 13 million customers save on hidden fees.”

Wise’s new offices were visited this week by Emma Reynolds, Economic Secretary to the Treasury to host Innovate Finance’s latest Unicorn Council meeting for UK-based fintechs.

Reynolds said: “Wise is a great example of the kind of innovative, high-growth businesses that make London a leading hub for fintech companies. Its success highlights the strength of our ecosystem – one that fosters entrepreneurship, attracts investments and creates high-skilled jobs. It demonstrates that the UK remains one of the best places to start and grow a business.”

This week, Wise is also opening its new office in Tallinn, Estonia, moving from the Norra building in the Baltika Quarter of the city to the recently redeveloped innovation district, Krulli Quarter, to accommodate over 2,200 employees.

As part of its global expansion, the fintech is also growing its regional hubs in Austin and Singapore. Wise’s Budapest office, which is home to more than 800 employees, is also undergoing a redesign.
