Vampr ‘LinkedIn for Creatives’ raises total £1.9M ahead of Series A, opens new office in London

Los Angeles-based Vampr is a social music-tech platform touted as the ‘LinkedIn for Creatives.’, Now, the company has secured £570K funding ahead of its Series A. Besides the investment, the company has also opened an office in London.

Live streaming tools for creatives

Notably, Vampr raised the maximum permitted funding in a 12-month window under Reg CF laws with over 2,000 investors in an oversubscribed crowdfunding round. With this, the overall investment raised by the company is £1.9M ahead of the upcoming Series A round.

Vampr will use the funding for further expansion with a desktop experience. It will also bring new live streaming tools that will let creatives broadcast their performances to the world, thereby helping Vampr cement itself as the only 360° self-service platform for artists.

Josh Simons, Vampr’s Co-Founder and CEO, said: “We are thrilled to have successfully closed another equity crowdfunding campaign. I want to thank each and every one of our 2,054 investors, many of them also Vampr users, my team for supporting Baz and meI throughout the raise, and of course, the entire Vampr community, which continues to blossom as the platform improves.”

Whopping 400% growth in users

Vampr was founded in 2015 by The Music Network’​s 30 Under 30 Power Player, Josh Simons, and multi-award-winning songwriter/guitarist and tech entrepreneur, Baz Palmer. The company debuted as a groundbreaking social-professional network for creatives.

To date, it has enabled over 6 million connections across 190+ countries to create hundreds of thousands of musical works. Last year, Vampr witnessed its Monthly Active Users (MAU) grow by a whopping 400%, which resulted in a 1,273% increase in revenue. Also, it expanded its team in the Nashville and London offices.

Notably, Vampr is already used by many industry heavyweights ranging from Kanye West’s Grammy-winning producer, Antony Kilhoffer, to Rae Khalil from hit Netflix music competition show, Rhythm + Flow, hosted by Queen Latifah and Chance The Rapper. It is backed by music industry executives at Warner, Sony and Beatport, institutional investors, NHL players and even stay-at-home parents.

360° self-service platform for artists

Vampr, the 360° self-service platform for artists, has been designed to provide everything from distribution, publishing, education and other digital services to a fast-scaling network of over 750,000 users. Musicians alone spend up to £32B a year on essential services. The company’s premium service, Vampr Pro bundles digital distribution, which allows users to share their music on leading music streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube while keeping 100% of their royalties.
