The England goalkeeper Mary Earps has won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award for 2023. She succeeds her international teammate Beth Mead, who won last year’s accolade.
England cricketer Stuart Broad came second, with heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson third. The leading trio were joined on the shortlist by jockey Frankie Dettori, wheelchair tennis star Alfie Hewett and golfer Rory McIlroy.
