Electronics designer Dyson is building a new £100m Technology Centre in Bristol, as well as building new facilities in the Philippines and a battery plant in Singapore.
Dyson’s Bristol base will have “hundreds” of software and AI engineers creating Dyson’s next decade of products, the company said, along with commercial and ecommerce teams.
The company’s Technology Centre will be based in a redevelopment near Bristol Bridge.
Jake Dyson, chief engineer at Dyson, said: “To us, sensors, apps, and connectivity are about more than simply adding function to the machine. They transform how we support our owners and assess autonomously how to improve a product’s performance over its lifetime to ensure they are at peak performance.”
It follows earlier plans by Dyson to create a Robotics Centre in Wiltshire, where it has since turned the former RAF hangars into R&D labs.
In Singapore, Dyson is constructing its first battery plant, which is predicted to be up and running by 2025.

“Just like our long-term investments in pioneering digital electric motor technology, Dyson’s next-generation battery technology will drive a major revolution in the performance and sustainability of Dyson’s machines.”
Dyson is building another tech centre in the Philippines, incorporating its research, development, and motor manufacturing teams.
