Cera Care Limited, a digital health startup in London, has unveiled an ambitious new recruitment programme, with the goal of creating 10,000 jobs for frontline staff over 2023.
Cera is a digital platform that provides healthcare services to patients at home, including digital prescription ordering and booking at-home appointments from Cera nurses.
Looking to address the shortage of NHS frontline staff, Cera has today announced its plan to bolster the healthcare sector with an additional 10,000 workers, the majority being professional carers and nurses.
Cera has said it will accept candidates from other industries, including retail, hospitality, and leisure.
“Britain is facing a dual crisis – an economic one and a second that grips our health service. We need to discharge well-enough patients out of hospital and into their homes more rapidly,” said Cera co-founder and CEO Dr Ben Maruthappu.
“We are hoping this ambitious jobs programme goes some way to solving both crises: helping people return to work at a challenging time and allowing us to deliver millions more home healthcare visits each year.”
The new jobs programme follows a previous pledge from Cera to create 10,000 jobs throughout the pandemic, which the company said it achieved several months ahead of schedule.
In August 2022, Cera Care Limited raised £263m in funding from Schroders Capital, Jane Street Capital, KairosHQ, and Vanderbilt University.
