Glasgow-headquartered Gigged.AI has bagged £1.6m in seed funding, led by Par Equity, for its artificial intelligence-powered recruitment software.
Its software matches people equipped with relevant technology skills to suitable hiring companies. It also provides an overview of a business’s current talent capabilities to prevent unnecessary hires where possible.
“The ‘Great Resignation’ has seen millions of people quit their jobs every month, as they leave to seek more flexibility and better opportunity,” said Rich Wilson, CEO and co-founder, Gigged.AI.
Wilson added: “When you look at Gen Z, almost two out of three now engage in freelance work, and within our own talent community on the platform we are seeing around 70% of people with second jobs…”
The startup will spend the sizeable seed funding on building out its team remotely alongside its Glasgow and London offices.
Par Equity was joined in the Gigged.AI seed round by Techstart Ventures, Edinburgh strategic design firm Nile HQ, and angel investors.
Wilson founded Gigged.AI along with company CTO Craig Short in 2021.

Businesses that use Gigged.AI are the BBC, Skyscanner, and the University of Edinburgh.
