Move by Russian president is latest attempt to increase troop numbers in Ukraine
The United States is concerned by China’s alignment with Russia as Moscow continues its invasion of Ukraine, the US said after the presidents of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, held a video meeting on Friday.
A US State Department spokesperson said:
Beijing claims to be neutral, but its behaviour makes clear it is still investing in close ties to Russia.
