Rest Less, a digital platform for over 50s, secures £5.6m

Rest Less, a London-based startup looking to provide online services to users from the age of 50 and up, has secured £5.6m in funding.

Founded in 2018, Rest Less began life as a digital platform to connect people over 50 with career opportunities that are not age restrictive.

The platform has since grown into a fully-fledged community offering financial advice, health and social information, and other areas of support.

“Historically the tech industry has ignored this large and growing section of society (for anything apart from later life care solutions),” said Sara Stephens, co-founder and CTO of Rest Less.

“This is despite them being an enormous consumer market, controlling over 75% of all household wealth and being chronically underserved in many key dimensions.”

Rest Less is currently home to more than one million users, which the company has said accounts for one in 17 of all 50 to 70-year-olds in the country.

Stuart Lewis, co-founder of Rest Less added: “From day one we have been outspoken advocates for our members, providing them with a platform and a voice, to help shine a light on both the joys and complexities faced by today’s generation of midlifers.

“We see huge unmet needs from our members in the areas of work, health, and financial services. With this latest funding, we are excited to be able to accelerate investment in our unique financial services offerings in the pensions and later life lending space.”

Its latest investment round was led by Moneta Venture Capital and follows a £3m seed funding round for the company in March 2020.
