HumanForest, a sustainable e-bike startup eyes to expand in London in Summer 2021

As there is a shift towards climate-friendly e-mobility solutions, many startups have come up with free and sustainable mobility that is accessible to everyone. One such startup is London-based HumanForest, a one-of-a-kind shared electric bike service.

Surpasses crowdfunding target

Now, this startup has surpassed £1.25M in a crowdfunding campaign, which was launched back on November 5, 2020. The overfunding is possible with commitments from over 445 investors so far. This follows the successful trial in London this summer and a seed investment round of £1.8M, which it raised earlier this year.

HumanForest will use the capital to acquire 1,500 electric bikes and expand into 15 London Boroughs by Summer 2021. Also, London’s truly sustainable e-bike will grow in the global markets in 2022.

Agustin Guilisasti, CEO and founder, commented: “We are thrilled by the response we have seen to the initial phase of our crowdfunding campaign and the interest from such a variety of investors. It’s reassuring to know that investors are looking to support companies with sustainable values at their core, who are making a real-world difference to the future of our planet.”

Ensures reduced CO2 emissions

HumanForest founded by Agustin Guilisasti, Michael Stewart and Caroline Seton in 2019 works with the mission to help improve air quality in cities. It wants people to make sustainable choices that will let them protect the environment. With the investment from the crowdfunding campaign, the company will facilitate up to 7,000 rides and avoid nearly 4 tonnes of CO2 emissions into London’s air every day.

Free for 10 minutes each day!

HumanForest provides free rides for 10 minutes every day without any unlocking fee. The truly sustainable e-bike service offers an affordable and new approach towards urban mobility with this move. Besides offering 10 minutes of free rides on a truly green e-bike, HumanForest lets users continue the rides by paying £0.15 per minute.

Furthermore, HumanForest has partnered with companies that share the same core environmental values. Three sustainably-minded partners of this mobility startup include The Financial Times, Rude Health and Whole Foods Market. Also, it advertises on its digital marketing platform and enables the free 10-minute ride.

Soon, HumanForest partners will issue minutes voucher that can be redeemed for additional free minutes.
