Expense and travel platform Sweep recevies £465k funding grant

Sweep, the expense and travel management platform for SMEs, has today announced it has been selected by Innovate UK to receive a £456,000 funding grant to help support its future growth and continued innovation.

Chosen from over 10,000 applicants to secure the Government grant, Sweep will use the award to develop the first Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform for SME’s, continuing on its mission to bring automation to small and medium businesses, helping them cut costs and improve productivity.

RPA is the process of automating any repeatable, digital process such as financial reporting, accounts payable, tax returns and more. By bringing RPA to SMEs, Sweep aims at helping them eradicate human error rate, completely automate low value-added processes and – in doing so – help employees reallocate 60% to 80% of their time to more value-added tasks.

This latest grant follows a period of significant growth since the company launched in 2018. Sweep provides a fully automated expense tracking platform designed specifically to meet the requirements of start-ups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The new app has been built from the ground up, leveraging open banking technology to provide users with a fully automated transaction tracking system, smart payment categorisation and real-time expense reporting.

Billel Ridelle, CEO at Sweep, commented: “This is a fantastic win for the Sweep family and is indicative of the level of support behind the Sweep vision and our growth potential.

“The grant provides an enormous opportunity for us to ensure our product continues to innovate and respond to real-life business challenges.”
