As UK gears up to welcome back nightlife, London-based FIXR bags £6.5M funding

London-based FIXR is a digital events and ticketing platform and a challenger to UK-based Eventbrite. Now, the company has bagged £6.5 million in Series A funding and partnered with the UK’s largest nightclub business.

Funding to accelerate growth

The investment came from a consortium of investors including FSE Group, Armajaro Holdings, Smith & Williamson, and Carlisle Commerce Group LLC. The funds will be used by FIXR to accelerate its growth further. Already, the ticketing platform is becoming the number one online destination for event creators and organisers.

Notably, in April 2021, the platform witnessed a surge in ticket sales. As compared to April 2019, which is prior to the pandemic, the platform grew by nearly 300%. This growth shows that the industry is gearing up to boom once again as the UK is opening up and there is a demand from consumers, especially between 18 and 25 years of age.

Partnership with REKOM UK

Founded in 2015 by Nick Stone and Dom Marmont, the events and ticketing platform has partnered with the UK’s largest nightclub operator, REKOM UK. This is useful as the country is all set to open up for welcome back nightlife from June 21, 2021. FIXR will now support REKOM UK with a ready-to-go white label advance ticketing service, thereby ensuring a safe and efficient return for the millions of Britons who want to get back on the dance floor.

As a result of the partnership, REKOM UK event attendees will be able to purchase their tickets, either through REKOM UK venue websites that is integrated with FIXR’s proprietary software or the latter’s website and app (Android and iOS).

REKOM UK’s estate comprises 42 bars and nightclubs across the UK, and includes the famous PRYZM, CAMEO and ATIK brands, making it the largest operator by square footage in the country.

Edmund Glover, CEO of FIXR, said: “We are extremely pleased that REKOM UK has decided to partner with FIXR as we further increase our presence in the UK hospitality market. We believe that FIXR’s dynamic and flexible technology is well placed to displace the incumbent events platforms and enable both professional and occasional event organisers to manage their events as the UK gets ready for a summer like no other. Whether you are a world-class music venue or looking to set-up a charity fundraiser across the UK, Europe or the US, FIXR is designed to make your event more successful.”

Statement from REKOM UK spokesperson said: “As a group we realised the benefits of developing our digital marketing strategy. We realised there was an opportunity to grow our database and promotional presence in the online market across our venues by developing our ticket selling platform. We looked at various systems on the market and felt that FIXR was the best fit for our business. The platform offers some key operational functions that benefitted both the consumer and venue management allowing a quick and easy customer journey when purchasing alongside a platform that allows the manager to be in complete control of their online offering 24/7.”
