Assembled opens London office

Assembled, an agentic AI firm from the US valued at more than $200m (£148m), is opening a London office to serve as the base for its European expansion.

Founded in 2018 by Ryan Wang, a former engineer at fintech giant Stripe, Assembled provides corporate clients with customer-facing AI agents and workforce management tools.

Off the back of its $51m (£37.8m) Series B from top Silicon Valley VCs, Assembled is gearing up for a European move, with London chosen as an ideal way in.

“London represents the perfect gateway to Europe for Assembled,” said Wang.

“The talent density and AI ecosystem here is exceptional, and we’re seeing increased demand from European companies bringing a thoughtful, quality-first approach to human and AI agents in their support operations.

“Our philosophy that AI automation is transformative but not a case of human versus machine, has resonated with customers here in the UK and Europe.”

The San Francisco-based company works with clients including Etsy, Robinhood and Wang’s former employer Stripe.

“London is a beacon of talent, and this is one of the many reasons it attracts incredible international companies,” said Janet Coyle CBE, managing director of Grow London at London & Partners.

“Knowing that Assembled’s decision to set up an office here is driven by the strength of the talent and our supportive ecosystem is a huge testament to this.

“We’re excited to welcome Assembled and have them join our incredible AI and tech ecosystem.”
