OnlyFans founder launches rival creator platform

Tim Stokely, founder of content creation platform OnlyFans, is launching a new competitor.

Subs.com will focus on online content accessible via subscription payments, in a similar vein to his former company, though with a greater focus on diverse content types as opposed to the adult content which dominates OnlyFans.

“There is a clear demand for a subscription platform that gives creators everything they need in one place,” Stokely said.

“Creators have been telling me what they want, and that is exactly what we have built with Subs. It isn’t just for one type of creator, it’s for all creators.

“If Kylie Jenner converted just 0.5% of her Instagram following onto Subs, with a $10 (£7) per month subscription, she would generate around $20m (£15m) per month in income from subscriptions alone.”

Features of the new service will include paid access to exclusive creator content, the ability to message creators and schedule video calls.

Though the new platform shares features with OnlyFans, Stokely claimed Subs will not be just “building on what’s been done before”.

“We’re creating something wider reaching, with unique and exciting features that allow creators to monetise more effectively,” Stokely added.
