Lobbyist turned psychotherapist Derek Draper dies aged 56

Former Labour insider, who was married to the TV presenter Kate Garraway, had long Covid

Derek Draper, the former political lobbyist turned psychotherapist, has died at the age of 56 after suffering long-lasting symptoms from coronavirus.

“I’m sad to have to tell you all that my darling husband Derek has passed away,” TV presenter Kate Garraway posted on Instagram. “As some of you may know he has been critically ill following a cardiac arrest in early December which, because of the damage inflicted by Covid in March 2020, led to further complications.
