BGF invests £9m into social housing communication tool Voicescape

Venture capital firm BGF is investing £9m into the Salford, Manchester-based communication software firm Voicescape.

Voicescape develops communications software for workers at social housing providers and local authorities.

The SaaS firm’s software includes an artificial intelligence caseload manager, which monitors a tenant’s behaviour and risk to then automate the rent arrears management process.

“Voicescape’s solutions have been focused on helping organisations use technology to better understand their customers’ behaviours and improve engagement at scale, especially when faced with these strategic challenges,” said John Doyle, founder of Voicescape.

Founded in 1998, Voicescape will use BGF’s backing to increase its product offering and develop its caseload manager tool.

Over 50 registered social housing providers and local authorities in the UK use the software according to the company.

Pinesh Mehta, an investor in BGF’s North West team, said: “Voicescape has already made some strong strategic acquisitions to enhance its use of behavioural insights and data science, which sets it apart from other software providers in its space.”

Chief operations officer Gary Haynes also becomes managing director. Mehta and BGF portfolio manager Jill Williams will join the board of Voicescape.

“Voicescape’s technology, which has been co-developed with customers, is already transforming organisations,” added Mehta.

BGF earlier this month invested in the fabless semiconductor startup Forefront RF.
