‘Another night together’: Pelé ‘fights with faith’ in hospital as family gather

  • Son of Brazilian icon arrives at São Paulo hospital on Saturday
  • Legendary 82-year-old has ‘kidney and cardiac dysfunctions’

Family members of the Brazilian football great Pelé are gathering at the Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo where the 82-year-old global icon has been since the end of November.

Doctors said this week that Pelé’s cancer had advanced, adding that the three-times World Cup winner was under “elevated care” related to “kidney and cardiac dysfunctions”. No hospital statements have been published since.
