Arthur Labinjo-Hughes report: significant number of children still at risk in Solihull

Report into children’s services warns of faulty police records and ‘over-optimistic’ case decisions

A significant number of children remain in situations of “unknown and unassessed” risk, according to a report on children’s services in Solihull, triggered by the murder of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.

The joint targeted area inspection of child protection services in Solihull found that in a “significant minority” of cases decisions in safeguarding were “over-optimistic” and lacked “professional curiosity”.
