British Olympic silver medallist Chijindu Ujah suspended for doping violation

  • Ujah was part of Team GB’s 4x100m relay team in Tokyo
  • 27-year-old faces prospect of being stripped of his medal

Chijindu Ujah, the British sprinter who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics as part of Team GB’s men’s 4x100m relay team, has been suspended for a doping violation, the Athletics Integrity Unit has revealed.

Ujah is one of four athletes who tested positive for a banned substance at the Games and who were named by the AIU on Thursday. According to the AIU, Ujah has tested positive for S23, a SARM (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator) which aids muscle building and Ostarine, another SARM which is not a steroid but an anabolic agent.
