Zopa and ClearScore-led coalition completes cost-of-living pledge

A coalition of fintech companies launched by Zopa and ClearScore in 2022 to collectively tackle the cost of living crisis has completed its pledge to drive improvements to financial resilience.

The 2025 Fintech Pledge, featuring a coalition of 57 companies including Plum, Octopus Money and Salesforce, was created to address the period of rapidly rising costs and stagnant pay, often referred to as the cost of living crisis, starting around late 2021.

The coalition pledged to drive 10 million actions among UK adults to improve financial resilience. These included encouraging the movement of funds to more lucrative savings accounts, managing and consolidating debt and advice on improving credit scores.

The coalition claims to have surpassed its goal by more than double, driving 25 million actions among British consumers.

“In less than three years, the pledge has improved consumers’ understanding of complex financial topics and enabled them to take simple actions to improve their financial situation,” said Zopa Bank chief executive Jaidev Janardana.

“I am proud that so many organisations across the industry and beyond have shared in this journey – this is a milestone to celebrate.”

Justin Basini, chief executive of ClearScore, added: “While we are proud to have hit the extended target of 25 million consumer actions, the work to help people manage their creditworthiness and financial stability never stops at ClearScore.

“We will continue fighting for the best insights, products and outcomes for our users and the financial services partners we work with.”

The project also led to the launch of Master My Money, a social media financial education campaign that has garnered more than six million views on TikTok and has driven 40,000 clicks to more in-depth educational content.

The pledge also saw dozens of workshops on financial management hosted by The Money Charity.
