Who’s a leader you admire in your industry?
A leader I admire in the tech industry is Naval Ravikant. As a tech entrepreneur turned investor, he’s made significant contributions to startups and innovation, but it’s his philosophical insights that truly stand out. Naval’s ideas extend beyond business, offering profound clarity on personal growth, happiness, and decision-making. He emphasises the importance of leverage, compounding, clarity and long-term thinking resonates with me in both personal and professional contexts.
How do you motivate your team?
To motivate my team at Samp, I prioritise understanding the individual values and professional aspirations of each team member that I work with directly. By taking the time to learn what truly drives them, I can align tasks and opportunities with their personal goals. As a result, it creates a sense of purpose and fulfillment for everyone. This approach fosters a more engaged and motivated team, as people feel valued and supported in their growth.
How do you prevent burnout?
To prevent burnout, I believe in the importance of disconnecting from work and engaging in something different that is also equally as engaging. For me, hiking and exploring mountains are perfect ways to recharge. Immersing myself in nature provides a mental reset and gives me a sense of peace and clarity.
Excluding your sector, which nascent technology holds the most promise?
Outside of my sector, I believe quantum computing holds incredible promise for the future. Unlike traditional computing, quantum systems can process massive amounts of data simultaneously, solving problems that were previously deemed impossible. The implications are vast, spanning industries such as healthcare, finance, logistics, and beyond. Quantum has the potential to reshape how we tackle some of the world’s most complex challenges.
Which company’s growth story are you most impressed with?
Since its launch, Dust has demonstrated an impressive ability to scale rapidly. Their growth statistics of usage and revenue have been particularly impressive in such a competitive fast-paced market. It’s a good example of a product which is leveraging progress in AI and delivering solutions that users really appreciate.
