Weather warnings in place for areas of Wales, the north-west and south of England and west Scotland
Hundreds of homes and businesses have been hit by power cuts, and roads and a railway line have been blocked, as heavy rain and high winds battered parts of the UK.
Yellow weather warnings were in place on Wednesday for areas of Wales, the north-west and south of England and west Scotland, with travel disruption predicted in some parts into the early hours of Thursday.
