MPs join Labour in urging government to act as leaseholders forced to pay to remove flammable materials
Conservative MPs have piled pressure on the government to act swiftly to stop flat owners being forced to pay vast sums for the removal of flammable cladding, a situation one called “a living nightmare” for many leaseholders.
Speaking in a Commons debate on Monday, a series of Tory backbenchers warned ministers that not enough was being done to help leaseholders affected by the fire risk scandal that emerged after the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
