Junior doctors and consultants in England will go out on strike together for the first time in the history of the NHS, in a dramatic escalation of their bitter pay dispute with the government.
Junior doctors voted 98.4% in favour of staging strikes until early 2024 unless the government increases their salaries in order to end the dispute.
