RezKit: Travel booking software startup scoops £250k

Venture capital firm Jenson Funding Partners has made a £250,000 pre-seed investment into travel booking software startup RezKit.

RezKit is aiming to be “Shopify, for the travel industry” and says its software can plug into existing accounting or management tools.

The startup has created a group of booking-focused application programming interfaces, or APIs, which can be implemented by third-party developers such as travel companies, customer relationship managers and airlines.

“In 2023, we have our first clients onboarded, more in the pipeline and new and exciting integrations being developed,” said Matt Illston, CEO and founder of RezKit.

The Surrey-based startup will use the seed funding to expand its technical team.

Prior to RezKit, Illston was the head of ecommerce for First Choice Holidays and TUI. Before that, he was Explore Worldwide’s ecommerce manager.

Sarah Barber, CEO of Jenson Funding Partners, said: “RezKit is working to modernise the software platforms that underpin the various systems that are utilised by the travel industry.”

“It was clear that Matt and the team had the first-hand experience of working in travel over the last few decades and can help steer RezKit towards becoming a platform of choice for so many businesses in the industry.”

Jenson Funding Partners’ recent investments include AI farming spinout Permia Sensing and blockchain music licensing platform SphereTrax.

The venture capital firm typically invests from pre-seed up to Series A and says it has deployed more than £21m.
