Antler backs 11 early-stage UK startups

Venture capital firm Antler has invested more than £1.4m across 11 early-stage tech startups.

Almost half the investments, shared exclusively with UKTN, are deeptech companies operating in the enterprise software space. Seven of the investments are at the pre-seed stage, while four are seed investments.

Jed Rose, partner at Antler, said: “Working alongside hundreds of exceptional founders in the UK, and thousands in tech ecosystems worldwide, we are seeing an incredible influx of highly skilled tech talent looking to build startups.”

Antler says it had the highest amount of founders applying to its programmes in 2022 at approximately 21,000 across Europe.

The pre-seed investments from the London-based venture capital firm are SEO startup Baser, climate tech startup Sorted, microgenerator company Open Power, AI fintech Jenesys, SME lender Kite, health tech startup Noetic and hospitality tool Blend.

Shopping marketplace Unravel, proptech startup Qeeper, pet care business Pickles and sports analysis software Titan Academy are the four seed companies receiving support from Antler.

“From highly skilled tech professionals caught up in industry layoffs now looking to create new technologies based on their vast experience through to highly motivated and ambitious young entrepreneurs determined to have a positive impact on the world,” added Rose.

The 11 new investments mean Antler now has over 700 companies in its portfolio. The VC says one-third of these have one or more female founders.

In February, Antler invested £840,000 across seven pre-seed technology startups, providing £120,000 to each of the UK-based companies.
