Automated delivery management platform Evermile raises £4.8m

London-based delivery tech startup Evermile has raised $6m (£4.8m) in seed funding to grow its platform that automates the distribution of products from businesses.

Evermile was founded to simplify the process of companies shipping products to customers. According to the company, the challenge of managing external vendors, such as DPD and Royal Mail, can be taxing on local merchants.

Evermile aims to solve this problem for SMEs with an automated platform that aggregates and assigns the best delivery options for individual merchants. The service is customisable to suit the needs of each user and the company claims it automates as much as 80% of logistics tasks.

“Local delivery has become essential to almost every small business, yet current delivery options are complex to manage and prevent growth,” said Evermile co-founder and CEO Omer Goldschmidt.

“Through Evermile, we’re dramatically changing the unit economics of local delivery and slashing delivery costs for these businesses and the millions of customers who want to continue buying locally.”

Evermile has partnered with more than 300 local merchants across the UK, including pharmacies, flower shops and bakeries. The new funding will go towards expanding the startup’s reach to new markets.

The funding round was led by 10D and included participation from Mensch Capital Partners along with angels from companies like Deliveroo and Melio.

“Logistics is undergoing a once-in-a-lifetime transformation, and while shipping and on-demand segments have seen significant innovation over the past few years – local delivery and especially deliveries for local merchants were left behind,” said Itay Rand, a partner at 10D.

“With its impressive, automated platform, and advanced optimisation capabilities, Evermile has created a scalable solution for affordable deliveries.”
