Labour calls for more help for working parents in England lockdown

Access to furlough should be widened and childcare providers given more support, says shadow chancellor

Ministers are being urged to change the eligibility rules for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to support working parents and others during the latest England-wide lockdown.

The call came as fresh analysis showed almost 4 million people said childcare responsibilities affected their work the last time schools were closed.
