Indonesian aeroplane loses contact after takeoff from Jakarta

Boeing 737 operated by Sriwijaya Air and carrying more than 50 people is en route to West Kalimantan capital of Pontianak

A Sriwijaya aeroplane with more than 50 people on board has lost contact after taking off from Indonesian capital Jakarta on Saturday en route to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province, say local media.

Metro TV said the plane was a Boeing B737-500.
