Rail union leader Mick Lynch says dispute could go on ‘indefinitely’

With only 20% of trains running due to strikes, head of RMT urges ministers to intervene in talks

Rail passengers were left facing another day of disruption, as union leader Mick Lynch warned the dispute could go on “indefinitely” unless ministers intervene in talks.

Only 20% of train services were running due to strike action that saw more than 45,000 rail workers, who are members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) and TSSA unions, walk out on Thursday.
