England’s secondary school pupils face staggered return after Christmas

Many secondary school pupils in England will have a staggered return to school after the Christmas holidays, with online learning replacing classroom lessons, the government has announced.

Gavin Williamson, the education secretary, and the Department for Education (DfE) published plans for a delayed return to the classroom at the start of the new term in January, with most secondary school pupils not returning until January 11.
