The best tech jobs In Bristol this month

Have you ever considered moving to Bristol? Brizzle (as it is affectionately known) is a city that should definitely be on your radar if you want to grow your tech career. Research by the government’s Digital Economy Council in 2021 put the city in the top five of a Tech Power League table of cities and established that Bristol had more than 3,000 tech job opportunities, an increase of more than 50% rise since November 2020.

With a population of under 500,000, this is a great place to live and work, whether you’re a recent graduate starting out or a tech veteran looking for your next exciting role.

In the past, Bristol’s economy was mostly focused on sea trade. While this is still important, emerging industries such as creative media, electronics, and aerospace are now making waves (pardon the pun) in the area.

These new sectors are of course helped by the stream of highly skilled graduates from universities in Bristol and nearby Bath, but that’s not the only thing attracting top talent.

Bristol is a reasonably affordable place to live with low crime rates and welcoming communities. It was the European Green Capital for 2015, it has Fairtrade status, and was the UK’s official first cycling city. Bristol also boasts over 450 parks and green spaces, making it perfect for outdoor pursuits such as cycling, field sports, or even bungee jumping. When you add that to excellent nightlife, an established food scene and a whole host of cultural events, you’re on to a winner.

Of course, the list of impressive companies based in Bristol is also another massive pull factor. Brands such as Airbus, KPMG, EY, Apple, BT, and IBM are located in or near the city.

Are you convinced yet? Here are three exciting tech jobs on offer in Bristol right now to whet your appetite, and you can find plenty more on the UKTN Job Board.
