Governor says state trooper also shot in Smithsburg, town of nearly 3,000 people in western Maryland
A shooting at a business in western Maryland claimed at least three lives and left four injured on Thursday, authorities said. The suspect was “no longer a threat to the community”.
The shooting occurred at a business in the town of Smithsburg, Sgt Carly Hose, a spokesperson for Washington county sheriff’s office, told the Associated Press by telephone.
