Founders Forum invests in Chronos Law to give tech startups legal advice

UK-based Founders Forum Group has taken a “significant” minority stake in tech-focused law firm Chronos Law to provide legal services to its entrepreneur network.

As part of the investment, Chronos will rebrand to Founders Law but will operate as an independent business.

The move is aimed at providing legal services to high-growth tech scaleups in Founders Forum’s network in areas including fundraising, commercial agreements, employment law and data protection.

“Most tech businesses require flexible legal services that don’t fit the traditional law firm model,” said Tom Bohills, founder of Chronos Law. “Our services are designed to scale with the ambitious startups we support.”

Founders Forum did not disclose the financial terms of the Chronos Law deal but said it will replicate the approach it took with Founders Keepers, an executive job search company that now provides hiring services to the group’s network.

Brent Hoberman CBE, executive chairman and co-founder of Founders Forum Group, said: “Tom and his team have built a unique legal practice that’s sensitive to the needs of scaling founders. Their knowledge of the tech ecosystem combined with their agile approach to legal services make them the ideal legal partner.”

Since 2005 Founders Forum has been providing peer-to-peer services to European entrepreneurs.

It runs invite-only events for founders in cities including Singapore, New York and Berlin.

Founders Forum is partnered with Informa Tech for London Tech Week, an annual event held in the capital bringing together industry experts to discuss topics such as climate tech, the metaverse and sustainability.
