South East Cyber Resilience Centre welcomes Cantium’s CEO Mark Scott to its Board

Specialist provider of IT, HR and Finance services, Cantium Business Solutions, today announces that its CEO Mark Scott has been appointed to the South East Cyber Resilience Centre (SECRC) Board.

Mark has over 20 years’ operational and consulting experience as well as working in the Local Government sector for over 12 years where he has developed an excellent understanding of local government challenges, culture, and opportunities.

Mark has held senior roles at Capita, PwC, Capgemini, EDF and Thales, growing their businesses and optimising services.  This unique experience has enabled Mark to bring commercial success to local government and he has an excellent ability to join the dots to develop innovative opportunities that enhance both public and private sector delivery.

Commenting on joining the SECRC Board Mark said: “This is an exciting and forward-facing initiative which establishes a strong partnership between Policing, Academia, and the Private sector in educating and fighting the continual threat posed by cyber criminals, and the danger they pose to UK companies.

“As CEO of Cantium Business Solutions, I know that our public sector heritage and considerable cyber expertise will enable me to make a significant contribution to this important preventative initiative. With the number of people working remotely increasing so too does the risk of attack, so our work raising the profile of information security has never been more important.”

Responding to the announcement, SECRC Director Justin Torgout, added: “Mark’s experience of working in local government will be a fantastic addition to the Board. The SECRC is a not-for-profit company and Mark understands how to help public sector companies succeed in a commercial market, so his experience will undoubtedly help the SECRC grow.

“We want the Board to truly represent the diverse and varied business community of the South East, with experienced professionals from many different sectors. Mark brings another area of knowledge to the table which will prove invaluable to my team and to our members.”

The SECRC joins a growing network of regional centres being established as part of a national roll out to provide businesses of all sizes with access to affordable cyber security services, the latest advice and support from leading law enforcement and industry experts and help them take simple steps to protect their business from unscrupulous cyber criminals.

The SECRC offers a range of membership options to businesses in the region including a free Core Membership for businesses with fewer than 50 employees. Sign up is available via the website where businesses can access cyber security support, guidance, and tools.
