Epping Forest District Council adopts smart cloud platform to transform housing services

  • Civica Cx Housing platform will help deliver optimum services to residents through up-to-date, easy-to-access data
  • New customer portal will allow residents to self-serve and provide quick access to information on current repairs, waiting times or tenancy details
  • Cloud system will help Council staff to work anywhere, anytime – spending more time with residents most in need

Residents of Epping Forest District Council are set to benefit from improved housing services following a business transformation project to adopt new cloud housing management software.

The Council has picked global software provider Civica in a new ten-year partnership to implement Cx Housing Management and Asset Management. The new platform will offer residents more choice about how they access services and help housing professionals to add more value where needed most.

Epping Forest District Council currently manages more than 6,500 residential homes across Essex. The new software will bring all tenant, housing and assets information together into a single, integrated database. A customer portal will enable residents to self-serve and have always-on access to their information such as current repairs, waiting times or tenancy details.

Deborah Fenton, Director of Housing and Property at Epping Forest District Council said: “The major outcome from bringing in Civica’s Cx Housing platform will be improved services for our residents. Accessing systems in the cloud will make life much easier for our housing officers so they can be out in the community, speaking to customers and dealing with real issues, rather than sitting in the back office.

“Increased automation, smarter data analysis and workflow will help our employees to spend more time adding value for residents who really need support.”

Michelle Tyler, Managing Director, Social Housing at Civica added: “Smart cloud software is vital to help today’s social housing organisations provide the optimum services for residents. The Cx digital housing platform will bring better business insights from data, allowing the Council to drive the best decisions and ultimately safer homes and enhanced services for all residents.”
