North Korea fires unidentified projectile into sea, South Korean military says

Latest of several launches within a month signals further ramp-up of hostility towards neighbours

North Korea has fired an unidentified projectile towards the sea off its east coast, according to South Korea’s military, amid Pyongyang’s calls for the United States and South Korea to scrap what it called their “hostile policy”.

The South Korean military did not give any more details, while Japan’s defence ministry said it appeared to be a ballistic missile.
