Perceptual Robotics, a Bristol startup develops drones and computer vision algorithms for the autonomous detection and analysis of faults on large infrastructure. Now, the startup announced that it closed £1.6 million in a new funding round.
Investors galore
The investment round was led by TSP Ventures, an early-stage Venture Capital Fund that supports businesses focusing on climate and environmental technologies. Also, Humble Holdings, an impact investments firm, existing investors Metavallon VC and other strategic angel investors participated in the round.

Autonomous inspections made possible
Founded in 2016 at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, Perceptual Robotics uses drones, advanced robotics and Machine Learning to provide fully autonomous inspections of infrastructure, starting with wind turbines. These inspections identify and analyse defects with greater consistency, greater reliability and reduced costs when compared to current methods.
Operating from its Athens office, Perceptual Robotics is now carrying out autonomous inspections for some of the largest wind turbine operators in the world. Their first product Dhalion, is an industry-leading autonomous drone for wind turbine inspection. Dhalion brings full end-to-end inspection capabilities to the market, from data acquisition to defect identification.
