PaperCut reaches number 1 thanks to its partner network

IDC, a leading provider of global IT research and advice, placed PaperCut Software at number 1 for market share in its recently published Worldwide Device and Print Management 2020 Share report.

With a reported 10.8% market share, co-founder and CEO Chris Dance couldn’t be happier with the result:

“I’m thrilled to see our hard work result in taking the number 1 spot for market share in print management software,” Chris said after reviewing the report.

“2020 was tough by any measure,” he continued. “I am so thankful to our partner network. Our partners doubled down on their customer-first ethos and gave great care and respect to all new and existing customers who were encountering hybrid work challenges for the first time.”

In its report, IDC states that PaperCut’s success in 2020 could be attributed to the growth the company experienced in healthcare and also the popularity of its Mobility Print solution.

And while Chris agrees, he’s also confident that it’s service driving the change, not just solutions.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that our success is thanks to our partner network. Our Authorized Solution Centers, OEM partners, and the huge network of dealers and resellers have done an amazing job of ensuring the world’s workplaces are safe and secure with their printing.”

And while there was a dip in the total market revenue year on year, Chris agrees with the findings of the IDC report when it comes to the outlook for the market in 2022 and beyond:

“We’ve seen positive growth in the first half of 2021, which is reassuring for our staff and for our partners,” he said.

The IDC report talks about big shifts in print management for 2021 and beyond, with subscription models, a bigger focus on security, developing a cloud strategy, and the importance of platform integration among the important areas of focus for print management vendors.

“That’s where our focus has been for the past couple of years as we bring our cloud-native print management solutions PaperCut Hive and PaperCut Pocket to the market while we continue innovating our flagship solutions Papercut MF and Mobility Print,” Chris continued.

“It’s certainly reassuring to read the IDC report and get a sense of validation that we’re on the right path to continue servicing our customers with the help of our partner ecosystem.”
