Goodwood to showcase ground-breaking Jet Suits from Gravity Industries at Future Lab 2021

Goodwood today announces that aeronautical innovation company, Gravity Industries, will be showcasing its record-breaking Jet Suits at this year’s Future Lab presented by bp.

Hosted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, Future Lab gives visitors the opportunity to get hands-on, view demonstrations and interact with the most exciting innovations and advancements that are reshaping the world.

Known for designing, building, and flying Jet Suits, Gravity Industries is pioneering a new era of human flight. The company will have a flight training rig at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, where some of the Suits, which can reach speeds of more than 80mph, will be on show and demonstrated by the Gravity Team, and a variety of VIP’s. There will also be the opportunity for members of the public to sign up for their very own flight experiences. Flight experiences are also available for corporate bookings through a joint offer with the Goodwood Estate. The team behind the Suit will also be revealing a brand-new prototype that will completely reimagine the future of human flight.

Commenting on the announcement, Future Lab curator Lucy Johnston said: “With the theme for this year’s Future Lab being ‘technology for a better world’, Gravity Industries’ Jet Suit innovation fits perfectly. Both in terms of the pioneering engineering itself, with the launch of the new prototype, and in terms of the pushing the boundaries of human flight with real-world applications for the Suit currently being tested – namely mountain search and rescue and medical first response in difficult terrain.

“At the Future Lab exhibition, visitors will have the chance to get up close and personal with some of the most awe-inspiring and exciting technologies on the horizon – including the Jet Suit, which will be showcased during flying demonstrations taking place across the weekend.”

Richard Browning, Founder and Chief Test Pilot of Gravity Industries, said: “For a long time, jet packs were a fantasy, but the Gravity Team has made it a reality. The fact that our innovations are now being trialled for use in new and exciting ways all over the world just goes to show that what was once a dream is now impacting the real world.

“At this year’s Festival of Speed, we’ll be showcasing our revolutionary technology and sharing our vision for the future of human aviation. We have a wonderfully talented team and appearing at Future Lab is an amazing opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers, while celebrating everything we have already achieved and looking forward to the next big thing in our company’s history.”
