Telehealth startup Medixine raises £2.4M to shorten treatment queues and speed up access to healthcare

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased the need for remote healthcare solutions as healthcare service providers have been forced to adopt new, modern solutions at an accelerated pace.

Meet Medixine, a telehealth provider that has built an all-in-one digital platform for virtual care to support healthcare professionals focusing better on the patients. 

Raised £2.4M

Recently, the Espoo-based company raised €2.9 million (approx £2.4 million) in funding led by a crowdfunding campaign organized by Springvest. 

The Finnish company will use the funding to expand its operations in the UK and Central Europe. Further, it plans to develop new products within the Medixine Suite.

Medixine Suite

The Medixine Suite consists of all the necessary tools including, video appointments, a chat function, messaging, health questionnaires, and remote health monitoring, and automated screening for any illness or condition at any stage.

Established in 2000, the company helps healthcare professionals prioritise resources for patients that need urgent care. The up-to-date information from remote patient monitoring allows healthcare providers to decrease unnecessary doctor’s appointments and shorten a patient’s stay at the hospital.

Covers 2.5M patients, working with NHS

At present, the Medixine Suite covers 2.5 million patients, with customers in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Finland, and Denmark. 

It has clients including Nestlé Health Science, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), the Finnish Student Healthcare Service (FSHS), Linde, which is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company, and the northern and southern hospital areas of Denmark.

“At the same time, there is a strong global trend for more customised, preventative healthcare in almost all age groups. Healthcare centers and hospitals are gettingmore and more patients who have high expectations for their healthcare. The COVID-19 has further accelerated the need for telehealth solutions., 

“Consequently, Medixine Suite’s offers to care for and monitor patients with any illness or condition,” says Lasse Rousi, CEO of Medixine.
