Weezy — the hyperlocal delivery startup — positioned as the UK’s first on-demand supermarket to deliver groceries in 15 minutes has launched its services in Bristol this week. UKTN readers were informed about this foray in our interview with Weezy founders last month.
Launch in Bristol
Adding a Bristol-based fulfilment centre to its nationwide network will enable the London startup to meet orders quickly and source quality products and brands.
“Great service starts from within, and every member of our Bristol team is integral to our success,” said Kristof Van Beveren, Co-founder and CEO of Weezy.
Goes head to head with Dija!
From March 19th, Weezy is going head to head with its rival newly-launched Dija. The startup will propose new customers a special offer – “delivery within 15 minutes or free deliveries for three months.”
The offer will be valid till March 31st, 2021. As per the company press release, if an order takes longer than 15 mins between placement and the Weezy delivery arriving – as tracked by GPS – the customer will be provided with a code to claim three-month’s worth of free deliveries. The special offer is open to basket sizes of £10 and above, with no limitation on large orders and applies throughout Weezy’s opening hours of 8 am to midnight, seven days a week throughout March.
Weezy’s co-founders are Kristof Van Beveren and Alec Dent revealed to UKTN that they plan to open 40+ UK sites by the end of 2021. Weezy has secured £15 million funding so far with backing from prominent VCs including New York-based VC fund Left Lane Capital and angel investor Chris Muhr, the Groupon founder.
