In the latest development, Glasgow-based, global online medical education platform – Continulus, secured a £0.5m equity investment by a UK based group of investors.
Continulus provides online video-learning to health professionals working in acute and critical care facilities. It’s flexible access, fair price, and world-class continuing medical education are the driving forces for future medical education.
How will the funds be used?
Continulus will deploy the latest fund to reinforce the management team and technological expansion. It will also allow Continulus to keep expanding its global footprint and collaborate with some of the world’s highly respected medical organisations.
The company’s founder and chief executive, Dr Eoghan Colgan, said: “With existing users in 89 countries and growing, our long-term aim is to become one of the leading global healthcare education providers and to form a worldwide network that can be used to address global healthcare challenges. This investment represents a major step forward in fulfilling our ambitions.”

Global partnership & collaboration with respected medical bodies
Continuous has already partnered with various global medical bodies including the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses. The marketing partnership with an education provider for doctors, ED Medicine having 65,000 members in emergency medicine in the US, will help in further expansion.
Dr Colgan, who also continues to work in the Accident & Emergency Department at Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary, added: “Our partnerships are an endorsement of the work we are doing in acute and critical care specialities where we will be providing a package of lectures, multi-camera tutorials and podcasts by the world’s most authoritative experts.”
