Social care platform Elyndra scores £1.1m

Elyndra, the self-described “operating system for social care” has secured a £1.1m investment led by Outward VC.

The company supplies care managers and frontline staff with AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of care.

Elyndra’s technology analyses relevant data and operational processes to provide insights on improvements.

The startup has eyed a significant opportunity in the social care sector, which employs almost two million people in the UK.

“My family have run businesses in the social care sector and I’ve seen first-hand the challenges faced,” said founder Marcus Williamson.

“Our technology can play a significant role in the evolution of care delivery and decision-making with AI-powered systems that turn fragmented information into clear, actionable insights.

“By getting placements and care decisions right the first time, we reduce crisis interventions and create better outcomes for everyone involved.”

Elyndra is initially focusing on children’s care because of the associated data complexity and regulatory requirements.

“The social care sector has been facing a recruitment and retention crisis for years challenges that stem from broader systemic inefficiencies and fragmented processes,” added Outward VC principal Sanchit Dhote.

“With a significant shortfall in resources and ever-increasing vacancies, the sector faces further pressure with the government’s recent changes to international recruitment.

“We believe that AI will play a big role in improving public services in the UK and Elyndra will be a key player in this as the business develops more strategic partnerships and works with investors in the social care sector to achieve scale.”
